ABOUT
The Emmaus Way

The Emmaus Way
Emmaus Catholic Primary School is a welcoming and vibrant Catholic learning community of approximately 460 students, where every child is known, valued and supported. Inspired by the Gospel and our Catholic tradition, we walk alongside our students as they grow academically, spiritually, socially and emotionally.
We warmly welcome families from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Faith is woven naturally into daily life through prayer, liturgy, service and the respectful way we care for one another.
We believe every child can grow and succeed. Our classrooms provide a structured and engaging learning environment, with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy, alongside opportunities for curiosity, creativity and critical thinking. Staff work collaboratively to support each student’s individual needs and strengths.
Strong partnerships with families and our wider community help us foster a safe and inclusive environment where children build confidence, resilience and a deep sense of belonging. Child safety is always a priority.
Conveniently located opposite Watergardens railway station and close to bus services and the Watergardens Shopping Centre, our school is easily accessible for families.
At Emmaus, we are proud to journey together in faith and learning, encouraging our students to become thoughtful, compassionate and capable members of the community.

This is the Emmaus Way - walking together with compassion, courage and hope.

VISION & VALUES
“Inspired by Christ, we continue to live out the mission of Jesus through the celebration of the Eucharist - breaking of the bread. As a Catholic, faith community, we work together in unity on our journey of faith, knowledge and love. We foster lifelong learning that promotes success and nurtures the talents and abilities of each individual. Jesus stay with us.” Our vision is grounded in Jesus and the way He calls us to live. Inspired by Christ, we strive to reflect His message each day through kindness, compassion and service. As a Catholic faith community, we support one another to grow in faith, learning and love. We warmly welcome families of all backgrounds and beliefs, valuing the richness and diversity they bring to our school. We nurture a love of lifelong learning, celebrate the unique gifts of every person, and foster a caring, inclusive environment where all can flourish.

MEET THE TEAM
Our dedicated team is passionate, caring, and welcoming. We work together to support every child’s learning and wellbeing, bringing the Emmaus story to life through kindness, collaboration, and open communication.

SCHOOL COMMUNITY
Emmaus Catholic Primary School is part of the Sacred Heart/Emmaus parish, which includes Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Emmaus Catholic Church. We are one of three parish primary schools, alongside Sacred Heart Catholic Parish Primary School (est. 1950) and Cana Catholic Primary School (est. 2004). Together, we form a federation united in our shared commitment to praying, working and learning together. Established in 1997, Emmaus opened with 118 students and continues to be proud of its strong partnership with our Parish. Our school and Parish work closely to nurture the faith formation of our students and community, with regular opportunities for students to celebrate Mass and connect with fellow parishioners.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT
At Emmaus Catholic Primary School, we recognise that parents, families and carers are a child’s first and most important teachers. When families and schools work in partnership, children thrive - academically, socially and emotionally. Strong partnerships for learning and wellbeing ensure every family can play an active and positive role in their child’s education and in our wider school community. Research consistently shows that when schools and families work together, children achieve more, feel more connected, attend more regularly and develop stronger social skills. We offer many opportunities for families to be involved in school life, including: • Informal connection time in our piazza each morning and afternoon • Fundraising Team at events such as fun lunches and discos • Volunteering at excursions and school activities • Attending school Masses • Joining special events such as athletics carnivals, colour runs and assemblies • Participating in parent–teacher conversations • Supporting children with home learning Together, we create a vibrant, connected and supportive community where every child can flourish.

GROUNDS & FACILITIES
Our school currently features 21 learning spaces and a well-resourced library. In 2026, we commenced an exciting building project which includes six contemporary learning spaces and a dedicated art atelier, further enhancing opportunities for creative expression and innovative learning. Our facilities include: • A multi-purpose hall for sport, assemblies and community gatherings and before and after school care • Outdoor learning areas featuring a vegetable patch, mud kitchen and composting systems • Expansive play spaces including the Emmaus Forest, playground equipment, loose-parts nature play, football and soccer ovals, basketball courts, passive play areas and established climbing trees At lunchtime, students can also choose from a range of engaging offerings such as our Chill Zone, Eco Warriors, Sports Club and Choir. Our grounds are intentionally designed to promote active and passive play, environmental stewardship and a strong sense of community.
