COMMUNICATION
At Emmaus, we believe that strong communication is the foundation of a successful partnership between school and home. When we work together, our students truly flourish.
Connecting in Person: Morning Meet & Greet
We value face-to-face connection. Every morning from 8:30 am to 8:45 am, members of our staff teams rove the Piazza for our daily "Meet and Greet." This is a wonderful, informal opportunity to have a quick chat, share an update, or simply say hello before the school day begins.
Our Digital Communication Tools
To keep you informed and engaged with your child's learning journey, we use two primary platforms:
-
Compass: Our central hub for school administration, attendance, reporting, and important whole-school alerts.
-
Seesaw: A window into the classroom where you can see your child’s daily work, celebrate their progress, and receive direct updates from their teacher.
Stay Informed
Every fortnight, we publish our newsletter. This is your essential guide to the vibrant life of our school, featuring student highlights, photos of recent activities, and a calendar of upcoming events.a

COMPASS, SEESAW & INSTAGRAM
Compass is a secure, all-in-one portal that simplifies school life by allowing parents to manage attendance, consent for excursions, and payments directly from their phone. It keeps families instantly informed with automated updates, school reports, and seamless communication with teachers. Seesaw is a digital learning journal that provides a real-time window into your child’s classroom, allowing you to view and celebrate their learning and progress.

GETTING INVOLVED
At Emmaus Catholic Primary School, we recognise that parents, families and carers are a child’s first and most important teachers. When families and schools work in partnership, children thrive - academically, socially and emotionally. Strong partnerships for learning and wellbeing ensure every family can play an active and positive role in their child’s education and in our wider school community. Research consistently shows that when schools and families work together, children achieve more, feel more connected, attend more regularly and develop stronger social skills. We offer many opportunities for families to be involved in school life, including: • Informal connection time in our piazza each morning and afternoon • Supporting our Parent • Fundraising Team at events such as fun lunches and discos • Volunteering at excursions and school activities • Attending school Masses • Joining special events such as athletics carnivals, colour runs and assemblies • Participating in parent–teacher conversations • Supporting children with home learning Together, we create a vibrant, connected and supportive community where every child can flourish.

BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CARE
At Emmaus, we understand the importance of providing a safe, engaging, and convenient environment for students outside of regular school hours. Our Before and After School Care program is externally facilitated by Kelly Club, offering high-quality care right here on our school grounds. Programs are held in the School Hall, providing a familiar and spacious environment where students can relax, play, and socialize with their peers. Session Times • Before School Care: 7:00 am – 8:30 am • After School Care: 3:15 pm – 6:00 pm What to Expect The team at Kelly Club provides a variety of structured and unstructured activities designed to support student wellbeing, including: Healthy breakfast and afternoon snacks. How to Enrol Bookings can be made directly through the provider's online portal. Whether you require permanent care or occasional "casual" bookings, the team is ready to welcome your child into the program.

UNIFORM
At Emmaus, we take great pride in our school uniform as a symbol of our shared identity and belonging. Families can purchase new uniform items directly from Uniform Group Deer Park Unit 2, 51-53 Westwood Drive, Ravenhall, while our Second-Hand Uniform Shop offers high-quality, pre-loved items donated by our community to help raise vital funds for the school.

SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL
The School Advisory Council at Emmaus provides advice and support to our leadership team in planning for the school’s future. Made up of staff, parents and our Parish Priest, the Council collaborates to guide strategic decisions, strengthen school-community partnerships, and ensure our vision, values and charism continue to shape the learning and wellbeing of every student. The Council meets once a term and serves as a link between families, staff and leadership, helping to foster a strong, inclusive and engaged school community.

FUNDRAISING
Our Fundraising Team: Building Community and Memories Looking for a way to get involved and meet other families? Our Fundraising Team is a vibrant group of volunteers dedicated to enriching our students' school experience while building a strong, connected parent community. By joining the team, you’ll help create the "extras" that make school life so memorable- from special lunch days to exciting community events. It’s a fantastic opportunity to: • Connect: Build lasting friendships with other parents and carers in a fun, informal setting. • Create Memories: Provide our students with joyful experiences and treats they look forward to all year. • Make an Impact: Every dollar raised goes directly back into the school, funding new resources and initiatives that benefit every child. Whether you can lead an event or simply spare an hour to help pack lunches, your contribution is greatly valued. We invite you to join us in making Emmaus an even better place to learn and grow!
